If I, or you, or the rest of humankind were to physically embark (be that what it will ) on a journey of discovery to all seven continents; then it would be “pretty” fair to say that I, or you, or the rest of Humankind would have well and truly left our mark on the planet. On this Journey, not only would you be greatly enhancing your own knowledge of the diverse complexities of the world, but you’d also have massive bragging rights on the WAYN. You’d be able to shout these experiences out publicly, or even socially share on your profile enabling others to be educated and benefit from a lesson that you were lucky enough to experience first-hand. Who knows? Maybe YOU could be the source of inspiration for hundreds, who, like you, crave discovery.
I can confidently say you’ll experience a sensation like no other when wandering through the visually enriching cities of Europe. Be careful though . . . its buzzing ambience is a rarity for the travelled soul to which one can become quickly addicted to. That being said, rest assured, you’ll never find yourself uninterested or indifferent to your surroundings. And who wants a dull addiction? So, whether your next escapist affair will be in the Clichéd-Classic France (I’m thinking Paris, ooooooooh la la) or delving off the roadside in Montenegro its all-encompassing nature will officially leave you craving more.
V-dogs insider tip: The accessibility of Europe is part of what makes it so attractive. Boasting pocket-book savvy air, rail and road travel, a traveller can have quick connectivity to a whole new country, culture, heritage and way of life in just under/over a few hours.
Have you ever thought of taking a weekend city break to Budapest ? Need inspiration? Then, as always, look no further than WAYN.
Departing with no more than £300 in your pocket doesn’t mean you’ll be slumming it in a down right loud and dirty dorm – eating pot noodles, (although this sounds quite fun). In fact, staying in an apartment with Airbnb (see their profile on WAYN) taking advantage of the deal of the day menu (typical across Europe), means you can stay in Luxury while still having a few pennies left over for a cheeky cocktail or two on the riverside/sandy beach/coolest bar in town. Connect with others on WAYN to get useful tips and hints on other great things to do and places to visit.
Asia conjures many an exotic and diverse rumination: balmy, sprawling Metropolises seething with life and energy, empty white dunes and calming oceans, mountain top temples, hovering, sublimely amongst the clouds.
Breathe in the spice-scented aromas and let the unique atmosphere envelop you. Being the largest in scale of all the continents, the potential to meet like-minded people is massive and results in a positively diverse mix of cultures, heritages and natural beauty.
V-dogs insider tip – Across WAYN it’s very clear that the ultimate Asian travel choice has to be Thailand. You’ll hear amorous whispers of their street food & idyllic beaches, as well as the many places where you can dive, or even rock climb (imagine the domino effect). Thailand has mastered the art of blending exotic traditional ways with a progressive, modern and hedonistic travel experience.
For many, Thailand represents a relaxed vibe, juxtaposed by an adventurous side for the extravert in you.
Having had the chance to speak with many members from this part of the world on WAYN, it has been said that the Pyramids of Giza blow the proverbial mind! I’ve also been told by one of my clients that the Safaris of Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa bring you closer to nature than you could ever imagine. And with that, it has a huge amount to whet the appetite.
In its natural sense, Africa
comes up trumps every time – it’s a stunning place where you’ll come face to face with some of the world’s most beautiful creatures, and I’ve heard getting up close and personal is, my fellow WAYNers an experience not to be missed. An Inspirational place, but one that makes you feel right at home, too.
One thing I would say . . . is the opportunity to open yourself up to the people of Africa (this is a time when you SHOULD wear your heart on your sleeve) as they are the ones who will warm your interest in coming back.
V-dogs inside tip – Whisk yourself off to Ethiopia. It is one of the most awe-inspiring countries you will ever come across. At times it’s been said that its reputation of drought precedes it, but don’t believe a word of it, as it really does offer so much more. The treks are out of this world, and the mythical history is divine. If you head to the south coast, you’ll be in for an eye opening experience, in fact, in literal terms, its jaw dropping! The only thing it’s lacking is beaches, but with its neighbour being Kenya (and with Kenya being voted as one of the best beach holiday destinations of 2013) then Africa has well and truly got it covered. Speak to others on WAYN to find out more.
Next week I will be giving you some top tips on the final four continents: North America, South America, Australasia and Antarctica!
Featured WAYN member of the week goes to my pal . . .
Rich takes photos, not as a career, but just because he can’t stop himself! He loves to frame moments in time, to capture the feeling and ambiance to share with others.
“I’ve always loved travel and photography & it meant I could re-live moments that otherwise are fleeting.”
Recently he’s been lucky enough to travel extensively with work – giving him access to many exotic climbs and locations, effectively adding paints to the photographers palet.
Please see here for a share of one of the moments and places Rich has captured . . . hope you enjoy. . .
Can you guess where in the world this was taken? A clue?. . . Their football team are known as the Toon Army. . .
If you like some of them, then why not drop Rich a message on WAYN . . . you could own your very own travel inspired piece!
